          TEAMWORK

          By Jeff Stone, VP Operations

As defined by Wikipedia, teamwork is the collabo-
rative effort of a group to achieve a common goal
or to complete a task in the most effective and
efficient way. No matter how important you think
your job is, you cannot be successful at it without
           a great team surrounding you.
We can’t be successful in operations without the support and teamwork of the operations field staff, data analyt-
ics team, product support team, supply chain, sales, engineering, safety, HR, accounting, our customers, etc. If
one part of this fails, we can’t live up to our internal or customers’ expectations.
Communication is one of the main tools a team has to work together effectively. If we do not communicate with
each other, we set ourselves up for failure. How does the supply chain know I need a part shipped to me over-
night to prevent a down day if I don’t tell them? I can’t assume they know; I must communicate that to them.
How do we know what the customer expects if we don’t ask the question? We have many forms of communica-
tion at our disposal, email, text, Teams messaging and good old-fashioned talking to someone on the phone, so
we have no excuse not to communicate with each other.
Safety is another part of our business that requires a tremendous amount of teamwork to be successful. We
must look out for one another every chance we get. If you see a teammate that isn’t on top of their game, you
must be willing to say something and keep a watchful eye on them. We will have bad days or days when we are
distracted by personal issues. These are the

help. A good teammate will also take a new hire
under their wings and be a mentor. We have all
been there as new hires when the terminology

up to the seasoned employees to ensure that
we are mentoring the new hires to get the

In closing, I want to thank everyone who makes
this team successful. Without your contribution,
                                                                     we can’t succeed.
