Machine Inventory Management Continued
Type the part number in the search bar. If work orders are visible, open each up to review demand. In most instances,
you should see that the QTY_ONHAND is below the NEED QTY. To view if the part is being ordered to bring your
authorized inventory back to normal, just click on the Reqs to Release button! We’ve recently added a column to indi-
cate the Allowed Qty. If the allowed quantity is 0, the part is absolutely being ordered for a work order. If the allowed
quantity is anything other than 0, the part is being ordered to replenish safety stock. The final thing to keep in mind is
that planned work orders may be driving parts in requisitions to release. This will be obvious when machine inventory
is at safety stock levels, but parts are still in requisitions to release. The most frequent offender here is the journal
bearing oil and wick replacement job for the grinders!
