Safety Department Shares a Congratulatory Message to Fleet Operations!!
Congratulations to you and your teams on reducing the recordable injury rate to record low num-
bers! In 2014 the rate was 6.0. In July of this year, you took it all the way down to .99!
That is outstanding and you have done a lot of hard work to get there. The target used to be to re-
duce the number by full points. 6 then 5 and so on. Now that we are getting so close to the injury
rates that our customers have, the targeted reduction goals are now set in tenths and not full points.
Close call reporting has been on the rise and that is a good thing. We stopped it before it happened.
Or it was first aid and not a recordable injury. So now what? In order to further reduce injuries,
more details of incidents need to be gathered. More details and pictures paint a better picture of
what did happen or almost happen. With better details comes more opportunities to identify trends
and root causes leading to quality corrective actions.
Together we can further reduce injuries to you and your fellow employees!
