OPERATIONS UPDATES
Safety Reminder When Dealing With Electricity
Submitted by Mark Riola, Assistant Manager Specialized Maintenance
I was recently working on RG401 with Jeff
Leadstrom, Assistant Manager, Specialized
Maintenance. I was checking for 277 volts at
a disconnect switch and got zapped from the
lead on the fluke meter. Under closer inspec-
tion I could see the wire pulling out of the
lead boot or the insulation is split.
A spot on the wire lead that was bare, I
managed to touch it and my hand was
grounded to the disconnect switch box.
Take this as a reminder to not only in-
spect the meter function on a known power
source but to inspect the meter and leads
physical condition!
