Taking A Stand
“Hey, watch it baldie!” Theresa said as Elisa
accidentally bumped into our desk.
“Theresa, you didn’t have to be so mean. I don’t
think Elisa would have just bumped into our table
on purpose.” I turned to Theresa and said, but
she was already huddled together with the other
two bullies – Tina and Lexa.
I stared at Elisa as she went to the back of the
class to sit with tear-filled eyes. I wished I could
say something to make her smile, but the words
weren’t there. At lunch time, I went to throw away
the remaining part of my lunch in the trash when
I saw her huddled in a corner, eating her lunch
alone.
“Hey! I’m Claressa. Welcome to our school.” I said
as I reached out my hand to her.
