Taking A Stand
“Claressa, are you going to stay here with baldie or
come hang out with us cool kids?”
Before I could even turn to Elisa and bid her
goodbye, I realized she had left the cafeteria
crying, I believe. I turned back to Theresa, ready to
say, “You didn’t have to be so mean”, but I couldn’t
gather the strength to say so, so I just followed
behind them. Oh, how I wish I could help Elisa and
be her friend.
