                 Energy Audit                 An inspection, survey and analysis of energy flow for the
                                              identification of energy-saving opportunities in a building,
                                              process or system to reduce the amount of energy input
                                              into the system, without negatively affecting the output.
                 Energy Conservation          Decision and practice of using less energy
                 Energy Efficiency            Method of reducing energy consumption by using less
                                              energy to attain the same amount of useful output
                 Energy Efficiency Labels     Specify the products’ energy performance and help
                                              consumers make comparisons between similar products.
                 Energy Mix                   Various sources of energy being used by a Country
                 Energy Efficiency Standards  A set of procedures and regulations that prescribe the
                                              minimum energy performance of products
                 Energy Security              Reliable supply of energy and access to energy resources
                                              and fuel in the required quantity and quality at reasonable
                                              prices
                 Ethanol                      Alcohol produced mainly from the process of fermentation
                                              and distillation of vegetable feedstock comprising high
                                              contents of sugars, starches, and cellulose
                 Geothermal Energy            Energy that is stored as heat underneath the surface of the
                                              earth
                 Hydroelectric Energy         Electrical energy generated from falling or running water
                 Natural Resources            Resources that are renewable, non-renewable, exhaustible,
                                              and non-exhaustible
                 Non-renewable Energy         Fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, which are likely to
                                              deplete with time
                 Non-Renewable Resources      Resources that are finite
                 Pollution                    Harmful substances or materials released into the
                                              environment
                 Renewable Energy             All inexhaustible forms of energy
                 Renewable Resources          Resources that are infinite
                 Social Sustainability        Capacity of society, or any social system, to persistently
                                              achieve a good social well-being
                 Solar Energy                 Energy from the sun
                 Solar Heating and Cooling    A technology that collects the thermal energy from the sun
                                              and use the heat to provide hot water, space heating, and
                                              cooling
                 Solar Photovoltaic           A technology that converts sunlight directly into electricity
                                              using panels
