                      Activities

                 11. PRESENTATION Invite guest lecturers with knowledge of environmental management
systems, technologies and guidelines including ISO 14000 family of
standards particularly 14040 and 14044, and ASTM standards, as well
                                          as ISO 50001:2011.

                 12. INTER-SCHOOL Organize inter-school debates (at national level) on aspects of Green
DEBATE Energy and the importance of incorporating and practicing sustainable
energy (EE, RE, and EC) during CARICOM Energy Week

                 13. RESEARCH Ask students to research the concept of nano technology and its uses.

                 14. RESEARCH Ask students to research the use of biodegradable wood (sawdust and
wood pulp) to create microchips and batteries.

                 15. CLASS DISCUSSION Conduct class discussion on the types of telecommunication systems
(telephone network, computer network, radio broadcasting and
internet) and conduct research on the importance of having a stable
                                          power supply for telecommunication systems.

                 16. GUEST LECTURERS Invite guest lectures to speak on independent power producers and
                                          power marketers.

                 17. GROUP RESEARCH Place students in groups and ask them to research the use of
renewable energy (solar and wind power) to provide stable and
reliable power and its cost effectiveness.

                 18. DESIGN & BUILD Ask students to design and build scaled models of various renewable
                    MODEL energy systems.

                 19. PRESENTATIONS Invite guest lectures to make presentations on distributed generation,
smart integrated renewable energy systems, and cogeneration.

                 20. FIELD VISITS Conduct field visits to a solar farm, wind farm and/ or hydropower
                                          plant.

                 21. RESEARCH Ask students to research the smart grid concept including smart
                                          inverters.
