               Biogas

Biogas is produced after organic materials (plant and animal
products) are broken down by bacteria in an oxygen-free

environment. This process is called anaerobic digestion. Biogas

systems use anaerobic digestion to recycle these organic

materials, turning them into biogas which is mainly made up of
methane (70%). Biogas occurs naturally in landfills. Biogas can

also be harnessed by using food waste or animal dung which is

fed into a bio-digester. The gas is then captured and piped for use Source: GEA
