ESTIMATES OF ENTRIES FOR THE
CCSLC® JUNE 2018 SITTING
Subject Entry
1. The June 2018 sitting for certification in the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level
Competence (CCSLC®) will involve examinations for seven subjects.
2. The attached estimates for 2018 show that subject entries are projected to increase
to 16,380 which is about 9.5 per cent over the 2017 entries of 14,955. Increases are projected
for Science (23 per cent) and Social Studies (18 per cent). Entries for French and Spanish are
predicted to decrease by 20 per cent and 11 per cent, respectively.
Candidate Entry
1. In 2017, the subject per candidate ratio was 2.08. Using this ratio, it is estimated that
7,875 candidates will write the June 2018 CCSLC® examinations. This figure is about 9.59
above the 7,186 candidates who wrote the examinations in 2017. Entries from Barbados
accounted for about 47 per cent of the total entries in 2017.
2. SEC and Council are invited to note the estimates of entries for the June CCSLC® 2018 sitting.
