Virtual Subject Associations (VSAs)

Virtual Subject Associations are subject specific virtual learning communities on
Notesmaster which provide teachers across the region opportunities to share resources,
connect with other teachers in their subject areas to discuss issues relevant to them and
access resources to support teaching, learning and assessment of CXC syllabuses.
VSAs exist for all subjects in the CXC suite (CCSLC, CSEC and CAPE) and are managed by CXC
               Syllabus and Curriculum Development Officers.

               Virtual Learner Groups (VLGs)

Virtual Learner Groups are virtual learning communities designed specifically for learners.
VLGs provide a virtual space where learners can access resources, share information and
discuss issues relevant to each subject.

VLGs exist for all subjects in the CXC suite.

               Digital Toolkits
Digital Toolkits contain digital resources to support teaching, learning and assessment. The
Digital Toolkits are accessible though the VSAs and VLGs on Notesmaster.

In 2017, a number of activities were undertaken to develop Level 1 and Level 2 resources to
create Digital Toolkits for CXC’s products. The Digital Toolkits include a variety of digital
learning support resources in a number of media formats. The aim is to provide resources
that appeal to different types of learners. The resources in the Digital Toolkits include
animations, infographics, videos, podcasts, images, pictures and presentations. The
resources in the Digital Toolkits are based on the principle of providing resources in multiple
media formats to cater to the varying learning styles of learners.

Digital Toolkits are available for all subjects offered at the CCSLC level. At the CSEC level,
Digital Toolkits are available for 32 subjects. For the CVQ, there are 16 Digital Toolkits and
30 Digital Toolkits for CAPE. By the end of 2018, Digital Toolkits will be available for all
               subjects at all levels.
