Definition of Energy Conservation
Energy conservation means using less energy and is a behaviour
or lifestyle change. It is the decision and practice of using less
energy, for example, unplugging appliances when not in use and

turning off lights when you leave the room.
ACTIVITY: QUESTIONING ASSUMPTIONS
Create a list of all the assumptions you can think of about Energy Conservation
– true or not – and discuss the list as a group, questioning each one.
