Jambo’s Dream

usic! What a beautiful sound! The sound of
strings bouncing against each other, loud beats
echoing in a mellow tone. It is a gift; it is a
blessing.
A soft, warm line of notes came from an old
building near Jambo’s house. The sound of an
acoustic guitar echoed in the back of his head. He
just could not help but picture himself playing it.
He wanted to be there in that tall, shiny, building,
playing his guitar peacefully and sweetly. He
wanted to learn how to play his guitar in that
expensive school. Jambo had been there many
times before - hidden behind the brick walls—just
to get a closer listen. His dream was to one day
go there and be the best at playing the guitar.
But deep down he knew his family could not
afford it.
“Jambo,” a voice called from behind. Startled, he
jumped back, nearly knocking his head on a
branch of the big mango tree. He looked down,
realizing he had done nothing but stand there
