             piano from Zohidan on the 11th November and left for Tehran on the
             12th November.

             left fer Tehran on route to Athens on the 21st July ani returned

             Embassy, arrived in Kerman from Zatul or. tho 3rd August and left
             for Shiraz the following day.
             III. BRITISH IN7ZRhoT3.
                 (a)  There ras practically r.o trade throughout the year
             owing to ths delays of post war reconversion i:; industries ar.d
             lack of chipping space.
                (b)   The Ar.rlo-Irar.1ar. 051 Connery.
                     Thi'oughout the period under report there v.a3 r.o stock
             shortage anywhere in ths province cf .Ker.an, This was parti-
             -cularly gratifying in the case of lubricating oil of which
             there i3 a world shortage.
                     The Lir.geh Agency was re-established as from the 7th
            May 1946 and the Lor Ag-.r.cy was reopened on the 16th September.
                     Owing to availablity of ample transport, freight rates
            were reduced.

                    The Chief Distributing Engineer visited Ker~an and
            Bandar Abbas towards the end of the year with a view to
            choosing Suitable sites for bulk storage depots, filling station*,
            garages and houses for their staff, and it is hoped before
            long to have bulk oil facilities in thi3 area.

                (c) Church :!issionary Society.
                (i) Hospital.     Dr. 2. 3. «7ild, U.R.C.S., F.R.C.S., L.R.C.P.,
            U.3.3.S., continued to hold charge of the Hospital throughout
            the year assisted by Dr. Miss K. Blackwood until the end of
            ilarch whsn she left on leave for Australia*

                   • The Hospital continued to render cost valuable service
            to the community whose patients cone froa the reoote3t towns
            in the province. Their work which affocts about 75j£ of the local
            sick, cculd be greatly c:etcr.ded but the Hospital have always
            been hampered by a lack of funds in spite of which, however,
            thoy have perforced admirable work through the' yoonxuaiocrwnac
