2. I would invite attention to Lieutenant-Colonel Miles’ paper on the Por­
tuguese in Eastern Arabia, which will be found very interesting, and which
forms a valuable and much-needed contribution to our knowledge of the subject
treated. I shall be obliged for some printed copies of that paper separately,
in addition to the usual number of copies of the Administration Report and
Trade Reports.
