In reply to Foroign Dopartmont lotter H0.1350-G., dated

15th Juno 1909, I have tho honour to submit a copy v:ith

translation of tho lotter furnished to tho Political Agent,

Bahrein, by Sheikh Esa, asking Government to relievo him of

responsibility of oxorcising jurisdiction ovor Foroignoro.

2. Tho toxt of the lottor down to tho words "foroignors only

are ooncernod", is practically what was rocommondod to him by the

Political Agont. The rooorvation containod in the remaining words

io an addition of tho Shoikh'o own.
