!»otes on tho working of ,quarantine on the Arab Coast
of the Persian Gulf for the year, 1044.
1. An inspection was made by the Residency Surgeon of tho
Hospitals, Dispensaries and Quarantine stations at Kuwait,
Bahrain, Muscat, Dubai and Sharjah.
2. There are recognised quarantine stations at'Kuwait,
Bahrain and Muscat.
At present the permanent station at Kuwait is occupied
by the Military and a temporary one has been erected.
The one at Bahrain is good.
The Muscat one is fair.
3. At Duoai and Sharjah Isolation Camps are used for
infectious and contagious cases. The erection and punning
of these camps are carried out by the Shaikhs under the
advice of the redical officer.
4. Kuwait, Bahrain and Muscat are well run by the
•Quarantine Medical Cf'icers there.
6. .> tall-pox epidemics occurred 3a rai l, Dubai, Sharjah
at Khasab and oak*.a on the 'fractal Coast and at “uscat.
The Bpidenics were all of a severe nature.
Kuwait was free from any epidemic.
