                7* Public Works
                           The moat important public work to be completed

                   during the yeur was the ^anamali-lAiharraq bridge, which
                   was built by Messrs. Holloway Brothers* The war had
                   delayed considerably its completion, two sections of

                   the bridge being lost at sea. However, duplicates of
                   ths missing sections v/era made in the workshops of tht
                   Bahrain Petroleum Compsny and the bridge was opened by

                   His Highness the Shaikh of Bahrain on the 18th December,
                   1041*
                           The administrative block of ths Stats Hospital was
                   almost completed, the ground floor rooms being In occupa­
                   tion before ths end of ths year*

                           Ths new Technical School was completed*
                           Hew married lines were built on the south side of

                   the Polios Fort In plaoe of the old hnts which formerly
                   accommodated families of the polios*
