The authority of the Rulers of vjattar has
never been exercised in Hawar.
Disputes, which were frequent, between, the
people of Hawar, regarding fishing rights and
grazing have always been referred to and judged
by the Ruler of Bahrain, the Bahrain Shara Courts
ana, latterly, the existing Civil Courts, These
cases can be produced.
In the pact the "fidawis" of the Shaikh of
Bahrain v/ero sent when necessary to arrost people
of Ha war //hen they wore required to appear before
Bahrain authorities,
Since the prosont regime summonses are served
in the usual v.uy on the inhabitants of Ha war, pro
clamations of the Bahrain Government are exhibited
on a board in the village und when necessary the
police who are stationed at ilawar produce persons
whose presenoe is required in Bahrain.
5. In 1327 a serious dispute took place
between Ahmed bin Ghahin Al Dosri who lived in
one village in Ilawar and Butti bin Sulmun who was
one of the headmen of the other village, all of
them Bahrain subjeots, regarding certain rights in
Hawar. The case was tried in the Bahrain Court
and judgment was given by the Ruler of Bahrain,
Shaikh Isa, and the Sunni ^adi, Shaikh Sheraf bin
