Personnel.
llis Majesty s Consul.—Major C. H. Eincoln, O.B.E., held charge through

Local Government.
Bamla*' Abbas.—Agha Ismail Khan, Bahadur, held charge of the Governor-
ate throughout Die year under review.
As reported in previous years, the Governor has no administrative duties,
as all the different departments are now in existence with their respective powers
and, in consequence, iiis chief duties have boon confined to the supervision of the
Municipality, of which he is President. He is without doubt very enthusiastic
in connection with the improvement of the town, especially the constructions of
new roads by dismantling houses whichever come iji alignment, for which little
or no compensation is paid ; and the water supply to the town through the qanat
system.
Agliai Mnghroori, Chief of the Census Department, Busliire, who had been to
Xmrislan on inspection duty, returned on the 2Gth .May 1934.
•Niamatullal^Mirza Kameran, Chief Census Officer for Kerman and Persian
Baluchistan arrived at Bandar Abbas with a number of staff on the 27th and pro
ceeded to Charbar on the 31st October 1934 to open a Census Office there and
returned in February 1935.
His Excellency A glia Ali Akbar Khan Dawar, Minister of Finance, accom
panied by 7 members of his Cabinet, arrived from Bushire on the 8th February
1935. As he was recalled by the Shah, the party, after a stay of four days, left
for Tehran via Kerman on the 12th February i935.
Minab.—Malunood Aglia Al-c-Aqa remained as Deputy Governor throughout
the year.
Linrjah.—Mohamcd Khan Faliimi held charge of the Deputy Govcrnorate
throughout the year.
Finance.
Bandar Abbas.
Revenue Department.—Mirza Mohamcd Khan Naumani, Director of Reve
nues, after handing over charge to Mirza Muhamcd Ali Khan Zand, left for
Kaslian on the 20.th December 1934.
When the Minister of Finance visited Bandar Abbas in February 1935, he
amalgamated the Revenue Department with the Customs Department and trans
ferred the office there. This amalgamation is a blessing to the poor as the
extortion of money by this department now ends.
Excise. Department.—Mirza Ali Asghar Khan Raliimi, Excise Officer for
Bandar Abbas, arrived from Tehran on the Glh July 1934.
In August J934, the house of Kcrbclai Abdullah Busliiri, a local merchant,
was searched by the Excise Officer and all gold ornaments found were confis
cated, on the ground that these were bought with the intention of smuggling
from the countrv. A telegram was sent to the Chief Excise Officer at Bushido
asking him to quote the law to confiscate gold ornaments possessed by inhabit
ants of the country according to their position. The confiscated articles were
eventually returned to the owner.
Mirza Ali Asghar Khan Rahimi was asked by telegram to hand over
charge to the Finance Olficer and to proceed to Bnshirc. Ho took no notice of
these instructions, but left for Tehran on the 25tli October 1934. During Ins
short term of office at Bandar Abbas, he borrowed money from various mer
chants to the extent of Rials 9,000. On hearing of his recall, the creditors
