Abstract of the Principal Points in the Option obtained by the Dutch for
Irrigation Works from tho Kanin,
A Syndicate to be formed within two years.
Concession to be for 99 years.
Director, Secretary and Chief Engineer to be Dutch, the offices in
Holland, and not more than i of Directors to be of the same nationality.
500,000 hectares (2,350 square miles approximate) granted to the Syndi­
cate, boundaries of which land arc the Karun River, the Ahwaz hills and the
Jerrahi.
Syndicate to dispossess native owners of land and compensate for the
same. Crops raised to be the sole property of the Syndicate.
Syndicate to pay Persian Government 1,000,000 francs on signature of
agreement, and a loan of 5,000,000 francs and 8 per cent- of profits.
The concession also covers a dam at Ahwaz and necessary buildings.
