Coast by His Majesty's war-vessels, the Baluchis succeeded in importing \ gn!
rifles with a corresponding quantity of ammunition which shows an increas
of 1,175 rifles in comparison with the number imported during 1912. As in
1912, the Afghans confined themselves in collecting arms in the country, the
majority obtained in ICarwan, which appears to be the centre of the trade
A greater part of the consignments were landed in the territory of Sirdar
Islam Khan.
The following Chiefs of Persian . Baluchistan were granted permits to
import rifles and ammunition for the protection of Telegraph lines passing
through their respective districts:—

Note.— Permits granted in 1912 to Sirdar Saiyid Khan and Mir Mustafa Khan for 60 rifl<% 10,000
rounds of ammunition and 7 riflos respectively were cancelled.
