Our pump stations also include large, specialized filters to
remove as much debris as possible to prior to it entering the
main lines in order to prevent clogging of piping and sprinkler
heads. Each zone has its own filter.
Once the water passes through the filter it moves out of the
station underground through the larger mainlines followed by
a series of smaller pipes and valves out to the course and the
individual sprinkler heads.
The brains of the pump station are located inside an electrical
cabinet. Inside are various electrical components, breakers
and fuses that control and change the flow of electricity to the
different components of the station. Much like a computer’s
central processing unit (CPU), pump stations have
programmable logic controller (PLC). The PLC tells the pump
motors and other components when it is necessary to turn on
and off and how fast to run.
