chons have expressed a desire for their sons and grandsons to also be eligible to participate in the Boulé Scholars Program. Although family members of Archons are not eligible for the program’s scholarships, there will now be a component of the program that allows the sons and grandsons of Archons to participate in the various men- toring workshops and activities.
The Boulé Scholars Program will have a presence at some of the nation’s top-ranked uni- versities and HBCUs. African American male students at Har- vard University, Yale University, Morehouse College, Howard University, the U.S. service aca- demies, and several other pro- minent universities will be able to participate in the mentoring and scholarship aspects of the
program. African American male students at prominent gradua- te and professional programs such as Harvard Law School, Harvard Medical School, the Johns Hopkins School of Medi- cine, Meharry Medical College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and various other programs will also be eligible to participate in the graduate component of the program. We award ten $10,000 four-year scholarships each year to outstanding African Ameri- can male high school seniors from across the nation. From its onset, the Boulé Scholarship was envisioned as being equal to or greater in prestige than the famed Rhodes Scholars- hip. A scholarship fundraising campaign will be forthcoming to ensure the continuation of this opportunity for students for many years to come.
The Boulé Scholars Conference, the program’s annual leaders- hip conference and gathering of the Boulé Scholars, will be hosted in-person or virtually in Summer 2021. The Fall Boulé Scholars Virtual Summit was hosted on September 15 and was a tremendous success, including Boulé Scholars from universities nationwide attending a dynamic workshop focused on career preparation and the 2020 election. The Spring Boulé Scholars Summit will be hosted in January 2021. Overall, the Bou- lé Scholars Program is off to an incredible start in 2020 and is truly poised to reach many new heights in this biennium!
