René Webb Gives the Gift that Keeps Giving...

                                                                                       By M. Bernard Edmonds, I

Born Geraldine René Brown, in Medford, Massachusetts. Her father moved to
Los Angeles shortly after her birth, so René was raised by her mother.

When René was 3 years old The Salvation Army provided Christmas Dinner for René, her mother
and her sister. René and her family were all so grateful for this experience. This inspired René to
be involved to giving back to others.

René is a Woman of God, a Prayer Warrior and relies on her faith in God. She married Reggie Webb
in 1971, they opened their rst of 16 McDonald's and managed to raise three very successful
business owners, Kiana, Karim and Kyle. The Family started the Webb Family Enterprises in 1985.

Since 2013, through the Webb Family Enterprises, René Webb has been providing “The Rene Webb
Scholarships” to students to assist in their educational endeavors. In 2014 René committed to
giving African American students of California State University of Los Angeles scholarships for their
entrepreneurial endeavors with the goal of inspiring a cycle of economic empowerment. Her desire
is that the Eco’s system of economic empowerment would be continuous and grow as the scholarship
awardees completed their education or training programs of higher education.

René believes in, and supports the Mission of CEEM (Cooperative Economic Empowerment
Movement); which is committed to helping African-Americans create wealth through uniting
e orts and investing in African-American owned ventures, to provide support, counseling,
and leadership development for entrepreneurs and network members in order to close the racial
wealth gap and improve economic outcomes for the African-American community.

Although René Webb awards her scholarships in the month of May. Giving scholarships is a
Gift that keeps giving, as the awardees graduate high school, and become more committed to
achieve their goals through higher education. The recipients of the “René Webb
Scholarships” at California State University of Los Angeles are encouraged to give back and
          perpetuate the cycle of giving.

We will cover the René Webb’s scholarships and the awardees in-depth, in the May 2020 Issue
          of the CEEM Shopping Magazine.
