Presence—
For Executives & Leaders
Presence is the energy of being in the moment, here and now. Presence is about our impact on our audience: how we show up, how we make others feel, how we communicate both verbally and non-verbally. It does matter how we show up and what others think when they see us and experience us.
Presence—executive, leadership, stage— is how we're perceived and received. It's often spoken of as if it's a known and measurable quality. It's the combination of tangible and non-tangible attributes and skills that companies need their employees to possess and exhibit to be seen as strong and effective leaders.
Why does presence matter? It matters because, we DO judge a book by its cover. That's usually the thing that grabs our attention. We'd like to think we are above that. Better than that. But observation is a human characteristic. We're constantly assessing the world around us and making decisions based on what we see. Marketing specialists spend a great deal of time figuring out what details of a book cover will draws us in, entice us to pick up the book and buy it. We want the same for ourselves.
