In this City we try to understand what we think the funding issues are - if you can't get to it - there's limited
funds for all the Cities - they have all of these capital improvement projects, so that's kind of the way I look at
it - probably in a larger part of California the pensions and the OPLEB - a lot of times you have to cut back on
benefits and have employees pay a portion.

               Communication, Collaboration, and Personnel Management

               7. In terms of communication, what is your approach to working with different levels of stakeholders such
as management, staff, and your direct reports.

Would be attending meetings with Finance Director and then have own staff meeting with direct reports I
would have a staff meeting at least once a week depending. I would have an open door policy they come up
with the ideas rather than upper management on a personal basis I don't send a lot of emails I like talking
face to face I like operating that way I do send emails but for the people reporting to the position it would
               be more face to face.

               8. Please describe a situation in which you had influence on increasing the effectiveness of a team of people
or a department. What measures did you take to contribute to employee motivation and staff
                 development?

After the project we must have saved 100 man hours per month, it went smooth and everyone loved it. We
were willing to spend 200,000 dollars.
               Closing

               10. Is there anything else you would like to add?

               11. If out of the area – Are you willing to relocate to the Sacramento Area?
