Tracks
The project window is divided into tracks where the multimedia material can be
positioned and edited. The number of tracks that are displayed can be specified in the
file menu under "Movie settings".
In principle, any object type can be placed on any of the tracks. Video and image
objects can also be combined with audio objects within a track. The maximum length
of a movie is restricted to 6 hours.
At the left edge of each track is a track box where you can
mute (Mute) the track or play it back Solo.
Clicking the "Lock" symbol protects all objects in a track against unwanted editing.
The two double arrow symbols can be used to minimize or maximize the the height of
the track.
When a track has exceeded a certain height, a text field for the track name can be
seen in the track box. The track name can be edited by double-clicking this text field.
Right-click on the track box or the small triangle to open the context menu:
• Add tracks: Click this option or the plus icon to add a new track above the
current track.
• Delete/Cut/Copy/Paste: These commands let you delete, copy or cut an object
into the clipboard, or paste a track including all of the objects within it. The track
is inserted from the clipboard above the selected track when pasting.
• Multicam > Source track: Here you can activate/deactivate a track as a source
track (view page 125).
• Multicam > Master audio track: Here you can designate the master audio track
for multicam editing (view page 126).
• Track height: Set whether the selected track or all tracks should be displayed as
small, large or in standard size.
You can also adjust the size using your mouse. To do so, use the mouse to drag
the lower border of a track box downward.
• Track colors: Define a color for the current track.
Note: You can define a destination track for importing the objects. Click on the track
header to select a track. All objects you import will now be inserted into the selected
track. Clicking again on the selected destination track disables this function.
