Story 227
In The Loft
On a choice toft, on a small croft, there lived an Englishman
who oft slept in a hayloft.
He pre•ferred the loft despite how he coughed, which had
his wife think his head was “soft.” But in truth, had she
known of the liquor he quaffed, she would have much, much
more than scoffed.
Story 228
He Started a Brawl
Billy Joe, slurring in a Texas drawl, was so in•e•bri•a•ted
that his hand writing looked like scrawl.
When he fell off his bar•stool, he could barely crawl, yet he
managed to snatch a lady’s shawl, thus starting a brawl.
This caused his poor wife to break down and . . . bawl.
