Story 43
A Whale of a Tale
Gail and Dale went to the vale, or call it a dale, to
gather heads of kale. They drank so much ale that
their vigor soon started to fail, their color turning
pale. Then, believe it or not, they said they saw a
sailfish sailing in a gale that was bigger than Moby
Dick or any other whale.
Story 44
To Jail
Out of season Abigail shot a quail and a long-necked rail.
She also stole some U. S. mail.
Officer Bale cried, "We must nail this female. We must
put a tail on her trail."
E•ven•tu•al•ly they did catch her shop•lift•ing goods in a
lunch pail.
She pleaded, "But, Your Honor, a cold prison will make my
health fail, for I am already so frail."
The judge replied, "Wail as you will, Abigail, but I shan't
lower your bail. You will remain in jail !"
