What a Zooming Success!

When lockdown happened, it was all hands to the pump to ensure our students continued their important tuition and, like
many performing arts establishments around the world, we turned to Zoom. Within days, our amazing team had structured a
fantastic timetable of over 140 virtual lessons in acting, singing, dance, musical theatre, ballet and much more, covering as
many lessons as possible. And so, our UKTS VIP Virtual Lesson Platform was born!

The lessons for our VIPs (Very Important Pupils) were up and running in no time, and the feedback from our students and
their parents and guardians has been phenomenal. We have been completely overwhelmed by the abundance of
exceptionally kind emails and messages sent to us over this period, and that has truly made it all worthwhile. A huge thank
you for your kind words and ongoing support. It means the world to us! We have especially loved hearing that parents have
been joining in with songs and dances (off-camera)! Fantastic! A brilliant mood lifter and joyous for the children and young
people to see their family members getting involved too.

By the end of term, instead of in-person classes lasting the originally planned nine weeks, we will have delivered an extra five
weeks worth of tuition - so 14 weeks of classes, totalling 1,998 lessons! Wow!

Our VIP Virtual lessons will run to and including Sunday 28 June 2020. Students who want to take a break can do so until
classes resume in August. And for those who would like to continue to train with us throughout summer, we have online
Summer Holiday Academies as well as some complimentary summer workshops in which each age group can take
part. Check out Page 7 for detailed options for your child throughout July and August 2020.

Once we return to in-person classes, we may introduce combination teaching with some virtual lessons as part of our
teaching programme as this has worked so well for some of our lessons. We will be revising our overall timetable, and
everyone will be notified of the finalised 2020/21 timetable before we start back in August. We can’t wait!

COUNT ON ME PROJECT
Thank you so much to all of our students who took part in this fab project. We had literally hundreds
of you sending in your videos, and we have tried our very best to include as many of you as possible.
It has been a fantastic show of TEAM SPIRIT, and we should have the final edit ready for you by 21
June. Bear with us!

TikTok
At UKTS we now have TikTok @uktheatreschoolpaa, and it has proved to be a real hit with
our UKTS family. Everyone has been getting involved in the challenges and showing off
just how talented they are. Mums, dad, brothers, sisters and pets are all getting involved.
Please keep these coming! We have so much fun seeing your TikTok videos and our staff
have had a great time posting theirs too. Join in on the fun if you haven’t already, and you
may be in with a chance of winning some new UKTS uniform just for getting involved.
