Online Undercover Investigations

Based on the framework of the investigative process and builds essential skills
needed to conduct the online undercover investigation of a cybercrime by
teaching students how to set up and use a Virtual Machine to investigate a
cybercrime, construct an online undercover persona, construct an online
undercover website, and operate an undercover persona and undercover
website in cyberspace. Key topics include: Technical fundamentals of the
Internet; Computer hardware; Legal authorities; Online undercover basics;
Open source research; Social media research; Dark Web; Establishing and
operating an undercover persona; and establishing an undercover Web site.
