Flowers and trees show %u201cnew%u201d life and new opportunities. This is a good reminder that things are not always what they seem. A tree in winter may be bare, but that doesn%u2019t mean it has died. It%u2019s merely conserving its energy for the time to come. Many individuals and organizations have that same period of contemplation and inner growth.Something, or even someone, that once seemed unimportant or irrelevant rebounds when the situation is right. Regardless of our political leanings, the dramatic change at the highest levels of government has many feeling the impacts of upheaval and uncertainty. Some may enter a type of hibernation, or productive stasis. As leaders in County Government how we react at this time may greatly influence the success of our organizations moving forward.This is the time where we embrace the unknown, the uncertainty, and redirect the focus. What has NOT changed? Our missions. It doesn%u2019t matter if we work in Human Resources, or in Public Works, or even under an elected official. We all have the same mission, to serve the citizens of the county we represent. How do we do that? The answer has not changed. We provide the most efficient, effective services possible. No one Start your day by asking yourself: %u201cWhat is the best way I can serve my community today?%u201d has promised it would be easy, but I can promise you are not alone. Together we can help each other through these uncertain times, and like the flowers and trees that bloom in the spring, we will become more colorful and more vibrant when our season arrives. This is the time to focus on our shared goals and missions %u2013 not on our differences.
