KCGM is held in conjunction with the National Association of Counties (NACo) National County Government Month (NCGM), an annual celebration of county government across our state and our Nation.Since 1991, NACo has encouraged counties to actively promote county roles and responsibilities in serving residents. This is an excellent opportunity for your county to highlight effective or innovative county programs and raise public awareness of the services you provide. Counties can schedule activities any time during the month of April.KAC is once again partnering with you, our Kansas Counties, to celebrate KCGM, as together we share important messaging throughout the month of April to highlight your county employees and the work they do in delivering effective county programs, and raise public awareness and an understanding of the various services and products provided across your county.GOOD NEWS! On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly signed a proclamation declaring April 2025 as Kansas County Government Month. Kansas Association of Counties Governing Board Members and staff attended the official KCGM proclamation signing event at the Kansas State Capitol.
