economy where they supplied free shoes.

I stumbled on a video that says: “Adam Ruins

Everything: Why Buy One, Give One Companies

Don’t Help Anyone.” The video was critical of

TOMS and claimed that TOMS uses guilt to

convince people to buy their shoes, yet local

shoemakers lose business in the communities where
TOMS floods the market with free shoes. The video

further explained that TOMS's shoes only cost them
$4 to make, yet TOMS is selling them for $60. Even

              need.

TOMS received the backlash from consumers

after that video. So they built shoe factories in some

of the communities where they supplied free shoes

to help the economy. Now sources state that TOMS

gives away $1 for every $3 they make in the form of

              footwear, grants, partnerships, and grants,

              partnerships, and investments into poverty-stricken
