Inspirational. . .
It was my good fortune to have a number
of good music teachers before I met Ray
Johnson, but Ray was a different kind of
teacher. His approach to music was more
creative than my previous experience.
His approach to music was far different
from my previous band experiences. For
those of us who had previously had Dale
Beacock, this took some adjustment.
However, those of us who took advantage
of Ray’s creativity learned many new
things. I have since had the opportunity
to work with some of the greatest
musicians and music educators there are,
but I find that I often come back to those
things I learned from Ray at Fort.
