Mentor...
It is said that a person is nothing more than the aggregation
of his or her experiences and if this is true, I am indeed a
fortunate person. I can count the number of people that
have had a profound impact on my life on one hand, and you
are one of those people Mr. Johnson.
I recall the raw and clueless child that showed up on your
doorstep, that had his chair kicked out from underneath him by Dale
Beacock because I was not taking things seriously. From that point
forward, you worked with me and helped me to understand the rewards
from striving to achieve personal bests, being a part of a team, and
ultimately what it meant to be a leader.
While I did not continue with music in a serious manner when I le Fort, I
did nd other areas of academic interest that I excelled in because of the
lessons you taught me, including how to build upon those lessons. That
continued throughout my life. I am certain that I would not have realized
my dreams and become the person I am without your lessons. I can only
imagine the other fortunate students you taught along the way as well.
On behalf of all of us,
thank you!
