INTERVIEW WITH

     THE HOME OWNER

What made you fall in love with
     the home?

I grew up in this home, my parents bought
it in 1969, and to me it’s one of the most
wonderful places in the world. It’s walking
     distance to everything, especially our
beautiful Beaches, school, train, and vibrant
Downtown Fairfield. With the addition in
the back my parents added, it really made
for an open floor plan that has an amazing
flow. The community is second to none, the
neighbors are wonderful, and quite frankly
be what we will miss most!

     Why are you moving?

I love this home so much I really can’t
believe I’m selling. But I moved to California
in 2013 and realized after COVID that I’m
just not going back every year to enjoy it
like I thought I would, so will probably buy
a vacation property out here that I can drive
to rather than fly cross country. It has been
a very profitable rental property though.
Here again… maybe I shouldn’t sell after all!

     Will you miss the neighbor/neighbors?

Heck yes!!! Best people anywhere, and it’s
such a warm community you really can't find
anywhere else. Because the area is walkable,
everyone gets to know each other, it’s so
great. Whether its a quick wave or smile,
we've never felt a better sense of community
     than here on Birch Road.

If you want to be FEMA compliant just raise it to the 13’
standard, the front stoop is already at 9’, so you don’t have to put a
full floor below, just raise about 4 or 5 feet (see 327 Birch Road for
how this is done). An architect lives there and he raised to FEMA
height, that’s all you need to do you don’t need to go crazy high like
many in the area did, they thought they’d have another floor of
usable space below but it turns out it’s not that usable and not worth
walking up and down all those stairs to get to your first floor… 25
