TOP 10 THINGS WE WILL MISS ABOUT 251 CHESTNUT HILL ROAD
1. The entertaining centric, exceptionally well-integrated and connected
free flowing open plan first floor spacious foyer and circular staircase,
formal dining room, formal lounge, large study and a superb family room area
comprising a well-appointed and efficient open plan kitchen adjacent to a Café
breakfast area, outdoor deck, powder room, entrance halls and the garages.
2. The family room is super-sunny and cheerful in all seasons as it envelopes the
outdoors and nature due to the numerous wall to wall /wall to ceiling windows. It
has a brick lined wood burning fire place, a wet bar, space for an 80-inch or even
larger TV and a second full stairway to all the bedrooms upstairs.
3. The Kitchen is spacious and well-appointed with a large center island work
station and bar type stool seating for 4, a TV and an adjacent café table style dining
area. We use it each day, all day, as our ‘home from home’ to frequently connect
and reconnect, to chat, watch TV and the news and to prepare and enjoy our
meals especially as we are both working from home. When our daughters, spouses,
granddaughters and pets visit, as they do frequently, the kitchen is a hive of activity
with all the cooking and baking that goes on with all parties involved and with a lot of
‘backseat driving comments’ from the folks in the integrated family/TV room.
4. The open plan layout on the entire first floor, including the formal dining room,
lounge and entrance hall, allows the young family and dogs to play their favorite
riotous highspeed fun and energizing chasing games that exhaust and exhilarate us!
5. We frequently host family gatherings of 20 and have comfortably hosted parties
of 80, even in winter when the deck use is less utilized than in Summer.
6. We absolutely love the karma and tranquility of the close-up and personal
picturesque views from the kitchen and entire first floor living areas of our trees,
garden and nature through the soaring floor to ceiling windows.
7. We love watching Blue Jays, Red Cardinals, American Red Robbins and other
birds and their annual fledglings as well as critters such as chipmunks and
squirrels. We periodically have snow rabbits, deer, bats, coyote. groundhogs and
foxes. We also have a magnificent Barn Owl in nearby residence as we hear him
hooting from time to time at night.
8. We are fortunate that we have two protracted adjacent large natural parcels of
land areas, one donated to the Norwalk Land Trust and the other a utility servitude
that give the wild life shelter. Brian’s passion is the African endangered Black and
White Rhino so, I guess it figures that we love Nature!
9. The magnificent master bedroom suite comprising a large bedroom integrated with
a cozy sitting area, TV and gas fireplace that suits our evening reading and TV watching
routines. We will also miss the two-well-appointed separate walk in closets, the Jacuzzi,
glass door shower and heated marble flooring.
10. The spacious, well equipped office, directly off the main foyer and entrance hall. It is
discrete, very quiet, well equipped and self-contained especially for one focused on working from
home and for professional business interactions.
