Q: Please describe the renovation process
A: In 2010, we decided to do an extensive renovation beginning with a new kitchen which we
personally designed with a millwork company from upstate New York that we had been in
business with. The kitchen included maple cabinetry including a custom center island with
a built-in hutch and top of the line appliances. We also added hardwood flooring on the
first floor, three tier molding throughout most of the home along with new lighting fixtures
throughout. We divided our living room with pocket doors to create a library with built-ins and
a French door to our covered side blue stone patio the area above the patio. We also added a
large Dressing Room off of the primary bedroom with built-in maple cabinets, a center island
bureau with granite countertop and chandelier as well as overhead track lighting. It truly is a
dream closet which I will personally miss the most.
Q: Tell us about the Grounds
A: Located on a quiet cul de sac the grounds of the property are private and captivating with
blue stone walkway, matching stone risers, and a blue stone patio off the library. The
stone façades, combined with Fibercon decking, a pergola, and ambient lighting, creates a
picturesque setting. Cool off in the expansive 53,000-gallon heated in-ground gunite pool
surrounded by a Kool Deck patio lined with mushroom lighting.
A full house 12-zone irrigation system ensures the landscape remains vibrant.
Don’t miss the Bunny Hill in the yard great at the end of the driveway perfect for
great sledding in the winter and waterslides in the summer.
Lastly, the fireflies all around the property in the summer. Break out the nets and
see if you can catch a few!
Q: Why are you moving?
A: We decided to move to be closer to our two daughters and their families so that we can be
sure not to miss out on all the memories we have yet to make.
Q: Will you miss the neighbors?
A: This is a friendly neighborhood. Some of my neighbors have been here for 40 years like
ourselves. When our children were younger I started a Gourmet Club which lasted for 36
years and only stopped due to the Covid outbreak. Younger families have moved in and so
there is a new crop of young children that enjoy riding their bicycles down to the cul-de-sac
and many of our neighbors now have pools of their own.
