AN INTERVIEW WITH THE HOMEOWNERS
JAMES AND LISA LILLIE
PROUD HOMEOWNERS OF 230 NOD HILL ROAD SINCE 2005
WILL YOU MISS THE NEIGHBORS?
Absolutely! We are big walkers and hikers - and always running into friends as we
stroll the neighborhood. We are close to lots of hiking trails with Town Forest just
around the corner, and Weir Farm up the road. It is such a warm and welcoming
community on Nod Hill - I will miss my friends and neighbors very much! In the
summer, Nod Hill hosts the oldest annual small community fourth of July parade in
the country, complete with costumes!
TELL ME ABOUT THE GROUNDS ...
The view of the wood behind the house, and the gardens that surround our property
are breathtaking in every season! And while the flowering trees and blooming
daffodils are beautiful in spring, my favorite season is the fall. The view of the
changing leaf colors out our window beats any views I have seen in Vermont! We
have a vegetable garden laid out that I used to love to care for - complete with a cute
little garden shed (an original outhouse we found on the property while clearing the
woods for our house and renovated as our shed) and a metal art scarecrow statue
that stands watch, and a hook up to the underground sprinkler system!
WHAT MAKES YOUR LOT SO SPECIAL?
Not only do we love our property - with plenty of space for outdoor games, parties,
entertaining and relaxing in the sun - we are close enough to neighbors that we
walk to friends homes, hike the groomed trails of our local Town Forest and Weir
Farm nearby. We are also only 5 minutes from the kids’ schools, the center of our
hometown, Wilton as well as Ridgefield for all of our shopping and dining needs.
The drive down Nod Hill and then Ridgefield Road (Route 33) towards Wilton is one
of the prettiest scenic drives around - and we were lucky enough to drive it every
day!
WHY MADE YOU CHOOSE WILTON, CONNECTICUT?
When we first moved to Connecticut from Chicago - we were unsure where to live.
Eventually purchasing a home in Wilton for affordability reasons, we stayed over 21
years because we fell in love with the town! When it came time to build our own home
to our design, we could not imagine building in any other town. The ""small town
feel"" exudes through the warmth of Wilton's residents and the very fabric of the town.
I love grocery shopping at the Village Market where Nancy the general manager always
greets me with a hug. We have such fond memories of our kids playing soccer, lacrosse,
and even ski team all through their years of school. Our daughter danced with the Walter
Shalk dance school for 10 years! This became our community - our family! We will miss it
dearly!!
