BASEL CHRONICLES | EDITORIAL | APRIL 2021
There is a close relationship between
Christ's rising up from death and the
dead being raised. The fact that the dead
will be raised and the resurrection mes-
sage of Jesus Christ must be conveyed
through our lives. If the death we are to
have is to serve as a symbol of victory in
our lives, we must take the life of this
world very seriously. Our life should be
based on our faith in Jesus.
Does the Christian Church today act as if
Jesus is resurrected? Or is it behaving as
though Jesus is not resurrected? To what
extent are the signs of resurrection evi-
dent through our lives? What are our
roles in defeating the forces of evil? Are
we the forces that inspire and reect life?
Today, we need to ask these questions to
ourselves.
Dear readers, the resurrection of Christ
is a festive celebration of hope. It must
always be experienced by us in life. At
times, it is natural for the forces of
despair to cover us. They can affect us
and bring about change and transforma-
tion in us. In the midst of the forces
which are destroying, devastating and
shrinking our faith, our hope in Christ
and the works of the new life shall pre-
vail over all of these.
Our church, society and various learning
centers across the countries throws light
towards a new perspective and poses
different challenges. The lives of our
churches must be living proof that Jesus
rose and is still alive today.
