The New Normal
COVID-19 is here to stay, not forever but yes - for long. The world is working on ‘How to live with it ‘, as
we cannot spend our lives by sitting at home, grieving and doing nothing. The COVID-19 pandemic will not
only leave an immense impact globally, but it will also change our way of living.
With empty theatres, closed shopping malls, vacant restaurants and soulless stadiums, we are heading
towards a brave New World. Did anybody ever think that there will be New Normal adopted and accepted by
all starting from online school from Nursery to High Schools, “Veggie” online shopping, new movies
releasing on OTT platforms, maintaining social distancing in banks and markets, stepping out only for
necessary things, working together to get the household chores done, washing our hands very often, wearing
masks and much more?
If there is anything which has been made evident during these testing times is the fact that we hardly need
more than a few pairs of clothes, a roof over our heads and fresh food to survive. This New Normal has
taught us that self -reliance was the virtue that was valued earlier and valued NOW too. It has again
reminded us that ‘Luxury’ is always secondary and ‘Family’ is always primary. This New Normal has made
the family bond stronger.
Let’s give a tough fight to Covid-19 by adopting the
New Normal.

Stop Copying
Whenever we do something, we always find it easy to copy others than doing it with our own creativity. We
tend to learn from somewhere and to be honest, copying isn’t a bad thing. From the day we are born to the day
we go to school we copy our parents, our teachers in order to learn new skills as they are our guide and
mentors, but there comes a point when we should stop copying and start thinking so that we can express our
own perspective.
Copying doesn’t let you unleash your creative inner self. Imitation makes our mind numb and makes us think
that it is the easiest thing to do. Instead we should see things from different perspective and should do it our
own way. It makes us think that there is only one way to do something, but if explore, we will find so many
ways to do a task. It also reduces the creativity of mind. Instead of copying we should start taking inspiration
and write or do something original. It doesn’t give the feeling of authenticity and we cannot achieve anything
in life unless and until we stop copying. Someone has rightly said that, “Do not copy others, be yourself,
because an original is worth more than a copy”. So, we should always try, to be ourselves.
