WATER: A PRECIOUS RESOURCE
Water is the basic need of every life form on the Earth. Water helps us to lead a comfortable life on this planet.
We use water for so many purposes like drinking, cooking, washing, cleaning, bathing etc. Without water, life
is impossible on any planet. Water is the most precious resource in our life. It is rightly said that “A glass of
water is worthier than a sack of gold to a thirsty man.”
Seventy percent of the Earth’s surface consists of water but only one percent of this water is fit for human use.
This is because of the carelessness of the humans. Humans are to be blamed for the wastage of this most
precious natural resource. Human beings are so careless that they don’t even realise that, by throwing trash in
water and discharging the chemicals from the factories into the water is causing water pollution. Water
pollution causes scarcity of water in many areas and leads to the death of aquatic life. If human beings will still
not realise that water is becoming contaminated due to their carelessness, water scarcity will soon become a
global threat. So, it is very important for all of us to understand the value of every drop of water. The
groundwater level is also depleting fast, so we must try to conserve water by adopting various methods like
rain water harvesting and planting drought resistant trees and plants. Always remember, that if you will save
water, the water will save your life.

ROLE OF MUSIC IN A STUDENT’S LIFE
‘Dear Music, thanks for always clearing my head,
Healing my heart and lifting my spirits.’
- Lori Deschene
This quote holds true for me as I believe MUSIC is a therapy that soothes my mind and calms my heart. As
a student, it has helped me develop my motor as well as social skills. As a member of the choir, I have got
various opportunities to socialize with the students of different age groups and learn a lot from them.
At the same time, playing a musical instrument has strengthened my motor skills. My music teacher also
told me that learning to play a musical instrument helps to improve our memory.
It also helps in maintaining the balance between left and right hemisphere of the brain. That is why, I feel
that music is an excellent medium to enhance our learning skills as it works on mind, body and soul.
