“A day dedicated to the torchbearers of knowledge in our life.”
On 5 September 2020, MJKPS celebrated Teachers’ Day on Zoom as a token of gratitude to all the teachers who put
in endless efforts and hard work to ensure their students’ success. Honorable Chairman Sd. Surjit Singh, Vice
Chairperson Ms Rasna Singh, along with the guests of honour- Ms. Grishma Khodaria and Mr. Aayush Kumar Juneja,
school alumni, made the occasion special with their invaluable presence.
The event began with the rendition of the pious Shabad, followed by an address by Abhishek Sharma, the Head Boy
of the school, apprising every one of the significances of the day. A spectacular amalgamation of classical and western
dance forms was presented by the students of classes X-XII as a tribute to the teaching community. A self-composed
poem was recited in the honor of the hard-working teachers by Captain Publications, Nandini Sharma. The students
had prepared a melodious music performance for all the beloved teachers. A riveting solo tabla recital mesmerized the
audience.
Mr Juneja reminisced his days in school and thanked his teachers for their never-ending guidance and support. Ms.
Khodaria encouraged the students to follow their dreams. Ms Rashmi Mehta, the Principal, praised the hard work of
all teachers who help the students realize their true potential. Ms Mehta enlightened the students with the essence the
word “Guru” holds- one who dispels ignorance and darkness. She emphasized how teachers act as reflections of God-
“the divine force”-who illuminate a child’s life through the invaluable gift of education. The Chairman and Vice
Chairperson encouraged the students and teachers to never lose their motivation and zeal for learning, even in the most
challenging times. The event culminated with a Vote of Thanks by the Head Girl, Vishakha Singla and singing of the
national anthem.
