Up Up and Away

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, on an island in British Columbia,

there lived a little girl named Twinkle Star. One summer,

Twinkle decided to leave her island home to do some

travelling across Canada.

She packed her tent, sleeping bag, a large water bottle,

and some snacks (cashews and raisins). Then she hugged
her parents tightly and said goodbye. She set up her hot

air balloon and floated up, up and away. Her parents
waved for a long time, calling "Be safe, little Twinkle."

They put Twinkle's letter to her friend Mirabel into

the mailbox. This is what the letter said.

Dear Mirabel,

I will be passing through Kelowna in my balloon on

Saturday. Can I come and visit for a day or two?
