Method: Boil the leaves in water and add liquid to the Kunir Asem basic recipe. Drink
                                 the mixture for 3 to 5 days.


               For A Sick Stomach
                                 Ingredients: Grandmother root of turmeric; pinch of salt

                                 Method: Peel and grate the grandmother root of turmeric and squeeze out the juice in a
                                 piece of clean muslin cloth. Add ½ glass of warm water and drink.


               For Stomach Upset/Bloated Stomach
                                 Ingredients: 2 dessert spoons of red rice (Indonesian beras merah); 1 glass of boiling
                                 water

                                 Method: Roast (NB: not fry) 2 dessert spoons of rice and put into a glass of boiling
                                 water. Leave to stand till the water turns a deep shade of red. Drink once or twice daily
                                 till symptoms disappear.
                                 Vitamin B1 is the magic ingredient that helps the curing process.

               Rheumatic Massage Oil

                                 Ingredients: 1 ½ kg grated coconut; 175 g lengkuas; 175 g fresh ginger; 2 g cloves; 1
                                 tablespoon white pepper; 50 g lemongrass
                                 Method: Mix ¼ litre of water into the grated coconut, then sieve the coconut juice into
                                 a saucepan. Grind both the lengkuas and ginger into a paste in a pestle, about 350 g.
                                 Then  grind  cloves  to  powder,  followed  by  lemongrass.  Add  the  ground  cloves  and
                                 lemongrass  mixture  to  the lengkuas and  ginger  paste,  and  stir  it,  with  1  tablespoon
                                 white pepper, into the saucepan.
                                 Boil the mixture on high to medium flame for 2 ¼ hours till the water evaporates and
                                 the oil begins to form, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Then, transfer to muslin or
                                 fine cotton cloth, and sieve. Leave to drain, and when cool, squeeze hard to extract the
                                 liquid. Allow to drain in a sieve overnight to extract any remaining oil. Pour into a glass
                                 screw-top bottle for storage.

                                 Ingredients: Banana
                                 Method: Purée banana in blender, or mash with a fork. Apply to skin especially face,
                                 ideally  before  a  bath  or  shower.  Leave  for  15  minutes  and  rinse  with  warm  water.
                                 Repeat every 2 to 3 days to keep skin soft.

                                 Ingredients: Tomato
                                 Method: Hand grind or use a blender to make tomato purée. Apply to skin and wash off
