When it comes to cuts, we distinguish between three (3) basic cut types: the smooth cut, the faceted cut, and the mixed cut. Cut shapes include round, square,
rectangular, cushion, oval, tropical, marquise, heart, triangle, trilliant, baguette, emerald, octagon, princess, Asscher, and radiant.
Based on the raw mineral, our cutters and polishers decide which cut and shape will be used to transform it into a shimmering, high-quality, and exclusive gemstone
during their further processing. The raw form of the gemstone allows our experienced cutters to determine how these gemstones can ultimately be cut to achieve the
best brilliance and shine.
When it comes to the cut, our cutters prefer a round brilliant cut for RUBY & EMERALD, as this produces the greatest brilliance and the most beautiful sparkle. The ideal
cut shape is round. The maximum brilliance of the brilliant cut is cut with 57 to 58 facets so that it reflects the light to the maximum and creates a breathtaking sparkle.
It is the most classic and popular cut shape.
The RUBY & EMERALD are further processed by our cutters using a high-quality diamond saw or a laser, cutting them into the desired individual pieces. Due to the
natural hardness of the gemstones, the diamond saw must be fitted with real diamonds to cut the rough stone. The diamond is then faceted.
The cut surfaces of gemstones are called facets, flat, polished surfaces, usually with three or four sides. The widest part of a faceted gemstone is the roundest part. The
roundest part lies on a plane that separates the crown, the top part of the stone, from the pavilion, the base of the gemstone. The color of the gemstone is also an
important factor in its evaluation.
