“Our mission is to grow by enhancing and developing services and programs that inspire community involvement, offer support and resources, and advocate independence and well-being of all seniors and disabled adults.”
Cathy Brackemyer came to work at the Senior Resource Center after working 13 years before retiring in banking. She performed all the roles from teller to Vice
President.
Cathy has many
responsibilities for
both the Freeport
and Hanover offices.
She helps the
Community Care
staff with the billing
for the visits they
do in the
community. She
also bills for the
screens that are done for the nursing homes, working with them in the screening process and getting the paperwork that they need. She does all these things while meeting the requirements and criteria for the State of Illinois.
As an IT (Information and Technology) leader she is the one who keeps our computers, telephones, fax and copy machines all serviced and working. She also orders the supplies that are used by all the staff.
So when we think about the eight pillars of service representing the services provided by the Senior Resource Center, Cathy is one of the people making
up the support base of all of the pillars.
When Cathy is not at the Senior Resource Center she is happy to be with her family. She has been
married for 33 years to Brian. During Brian’s 26 years in the military they moved 19 times before
settling down in their current cozy home at Lake Carroll. One of their sons is a mechanical
engineer and the other one a chemistry teacher. They are now enjoying their
beautiful granddaughters, Stella who is 2 1/2 and Lucy who is 1 month old.
You may see Cathy and Brian on the road enjoying their Harley, off the road in
their UTV or out on the golf course.
Cathy is inspired by helping others and says that is the most fulfilling part
of her job. We thank you, Cathy, for helping us get our work completed
Cathy, Brian, Lucy & Stella
so WE can help others!
