Now for each module, define in detail the reports, queries dashboards required along with the
calculations.
Keep in mind that the information expected from the system must be of a much higher value than what
is obtained presently.
If the CxO or top management is not involved in deciding the Information required by the ERP and this
area is delegated to the Operational staff then the outcome of the ERP can be an operational system
performing the current manual tasks more efficiently (sadly this is the case in most ERPs).
Also keep a copy of each input document (e.g.: GRN, Invoice etc.). These documents are needed by the
Vendor to see if his ERP can handle the input.
Define approval processes and password security levels needed.
Other areas to be considered is the technology, service level required (e.g.: 24/7 support).
More detail checklist can be provided but the objective of this Guideline is to focus on essentials which
will prevent a disaster.
